Job Description:
Lead Teacher * Job Type: Temporary
* Organisation: Doncaster Children Services Trust

Doncaster Children Services Trust are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Lead Teacher to work with small groups of students who exhibit anti-social behaviour and have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The ideal applicant will be understanding, flexible, and skilled in de-escalation techniques, with a focus on fostering a positive learning environment without the need for physical restraint.
Day to Day of the role: * Lead small group sessions (4 students per group) in the morning and afternoon, adapting teaching methods to suit individual assessment plans.
* Develop and implement strategies to re-engage students with the curriculum and school life.
* Supervise and guide learners, removing barriers to learning to promote effective participation and enhance individual learning.
* Oversee the Learning Mentor and collaborate with teaching assistants and project leads.
* Respond to unplanned classroom incidents requiring intervention.
* Establish and develop effective mentoring relationships with learners.
* Facilitate the withdrawal and re-integration of students into the learning environment.
* Develop and implement personalised action plans for groups and individual learners.
* Liaise with external agencies for additional support where necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications: * Experience working with students aged 10-16 with SEND.
* Proven ability to lead on planning and to work collaboratively with speech and language specialists and teaching assistants.
* Team Teach training is a bonus, or willingness to undergo provided training.
* Strong understanding of the school curriculum, alternative provision, and pastoral care systems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as a role model for students.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a reliable and patient approach.
