Our client is a prominent player in the aerospace sector, maintaining strict compliance with industry standards such as NADCAP and AS9100. This role goes beyond just operating furnaces; it’s a career opportunity that allows you to thrive in a quality-centric, collaborative atmosphere.   

Situated in Sheffield, you’ll report to the Business Unit Manager and be entrusted with the responsibility for key heat treatment facilities on site, including VAC and Air Furnaces. Your duties won’t be limited to this, as you’ll also play a pivotal role in the process bay and press shop.

What you will be doing:
* Heat Treatment and Component Handling: You will vacuum, heat treat, and air furnace components per customer specs, strictly following Routing Instructions, Technique Sheets, and SOPs.
* Process Bay Operations: You’ll operate the process bay to safely clean and degrease lines across all product ranges, all while sticking to Routing Instructions, Technique Sheets, and SOPs.
* Press Shop Equipment Operation: You will set and run a range of press shop equipment, including a 150-ton power press and hydraulic press/drop head press.
* Technical Interpretation: Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret customer specifications and technical drawings is essential.
* Quality Control and Documentation: Ensure all operations meet route card requirements and log all activities to NADCAP standards.
* Non-Conforming Parts Reporting: Be proactive in identifying and reporting any non-conforming parts through the Hotspot process.
* Calibration and AM Checks: Take ownership of AM checks and make sure all calibration checks are performed as scheduled.
 
About You: We are in search of a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill this post and this role demands more than just qualifications; it calls for someone who can bring a blend of experience, skills, and abilities to a fantastic team. Here’s what we’re looking for:
* Industry Know-How: Ideally 2 years of experience working in the Aerospace Sector or similar industry.
* Press Shop Savvy: Hands-on experience in a press shop environment, particularly with drop press, 150-ton press, and Hydraulic press.
* Furnace Operation: Demonstrable experience in running Vac/Air furnaces.
* Task Management: The ability to manage a varied workload and consistently meet deadlines.
* Detail-Oriented: An exceptional attention to detail and a focus on producing work to a high accuracy.
* Time Management: Strong organisational skills coupled with excellent time management are required to succeed in this fast-paced environment.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with team members and documenting processes.
