TITLE
Sustainability Design Engineer
INTRODUCTION
As part of a continued commitment to delivering sustainability goals and minimising manufacturing impact on the planet, our client – a manufacturer of branded consumer and commercial products – is looking to hire a design engineer with a passion for sustainability and a drive for positive environmental decision-making.
LOCATION
Midlands (office-based role).
For commuting, ideal home locations would be: Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Cannock, Tamworth, Lichfield, Burton-upon-Trent, Coalville, Leicester, Coventry, Rugby, Northampton, Leamington Spa, or close.
THE JOB ROLE
The Sustainability Design Engineer role is a diverse position that will see you engage with a multitude of different teams and stakeholders to drive positive sustainable change across product design and manufacturing processes.
* Project-based input across material use, product and component design, use of recycled materials in production, packaging, transport and distribution.
* Engagement with the product design and engineering lifecycle from CAD design, sourcing materials, engaging with 3rd parties, financials, hands-on product testing etc.
* Putting sustainability goals first as part of new product design and innovation.
THE PERSON NEEDED
For the Sustainability Design Engineer role our client is open to consider applicants with a range of experience. But the key elements that are required are:
* Demonstrable experience within the field of product design (either through education or in a professional environment)
* Some practical experience of advocating sustainability in a product design project.
* A genuine passion to drive positive environmental change.
