Business Intelligence Systems Manager

Our prestigious publishing client based in London is looking for a talented BI Systems Manager to join their team and be responsible for developing, delivering and supporting Data, BI and Analytics solutions that provide actionable and meaningful insights for managing the business’s performance. This position is a FTC to cover maternity leave.
A successful candidate will set the team’s programme of work; schedule and oversee tasks; ensure the quality of project artefacts; provide leadership and guidance to the team and stakeholders in general; and report on progress, issues and achievements to the Head of Business Systems.
Key Skills:
* Thorough knowledge of Excel, SQL and data analytics, including IBM Cognos BI
* The ability to work across departments and successfully manage key stakeholders
* Proven industry experience with data engineering, business intelligence, data discovery, metric/dashboard definition or creation, and transforming data to meet business needs
* Experience with IBM suite (Planning Analytics and Cognos Analytics) or similar enterprise-level BI software
* Experience working with finance systems and a working knowledge of FS terminology.
Key Responsibilities:
* The support, development and ongoing management of data analytics and business intelligence tools and capabilities, principally IBM Cognos Analytics
* Provide technical expertise and leadership on data visualisation and self-serve reporting
* Providing training for business users of these systems
* Scoping, developing, testing and maintaining reports from our data warehouse; managing change requests to sales reporting and ensuring accuracy
* Bridging between Finance, Data, Publishing Systems (Biblio3) and the business
* Coordinating with third-party vendors and developers to ensure that the systems are up to date and that users are aware of new/changed functionality
* In conjunction with the Applications Support team, managing the BAU tickets related to these systems, ensuring that issues are resolved consistently and efficiently.
