Commissioning Officer Grade 8 Scale 26 (Admin and Clerical)

Location Gloucester
The core role is to complete due diligence checks on new providers to the Professional Services Framework that supports access to resources for children, young people and their families through Section 17 funding.
You will work as part of a team to ensure the services commissioned are of high quality, are safe and give the council value for money.

• Completing due diligence checks on providers, checking references, policies and Ofsted reports etc.
• Complete quality assurance checks and investigations where concerns about providers are raised.
• Completing reports on providers and managing and storing information gathered.
• Monitor the quality of providers through reviewing monthly reports and ensuring annual safeguarding self-audits are completed and checked.
• Ensuring trackers and spreadsheets are kept up to date to monitor workflows and track progress.
• Working with the wider contracts team to support tasks as required.
Experience
* Working in a commissioning environment or provider.
* Experience of working in a council service area e.g. highways, children’s services, adult social care etc.
* Building and maintaining productive relationships, including those with stakeholders and partners.
* Proven experience of interpreting and presenting research and customer views in light of legislative and policy requirements.
* Development of communication and engagement plans.
* Involvement and support to a range of projects including planning and reporting, including working on sensitive projects.
