Job Description:
A rare and exciting opportunity to join one of Europe’s largest Private Equity firms. They are seeking an experienced qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) to join their Portfolio Monitoring team. This is a very commercial role that will see you build relationships with both portfolio companies and internal functions to report on the financial health and performance of their portfolio companies
The Role:
* Reviewing and approving portfolio company data submissions
* Ability to effectively communicate and build strong relationships with portfolio company finance teams
* Assisting to provide valuable consolidated analysis and insight on results, underlying information, trends, information and their impacts for portfolio companies, Fund(s) and Firm
* Helping to monitor and review trading data to ensure it is realistic, in line with agreed strategic plans and expectations and escalate any associated concerns as appropriate
* Additional project support to help drive reporting improvement projects
* Being a highly competent sponsor and "super user" of iLevel, helping to manage the system on an on-going basis, developing custom reports and additional data capture architecture as required to fulfil business needs
* Providing advice and assistance to other users aimed at ensuring effective and consistent usage
* Assisting to sense check and query information received to ensure high quality financial outputs
* Assist in embedding financial ownership and responsibility within portfolio companies
* Challenging and focussing the deal teams and management team on important trends by creating concise yet powerful reporting, aligned to team goals
* Assisting with fund level analysis and projected outcomes based on investment performance
* Helping to provide Committee leaders with deeper understanding and insightful analysis of information and trends and drawing conclusions and making recommendations
* Participating where required at Realisation Committee and other Partner meetings
* Assistance with preparation of financial information for investor reports, fundraising and AGM materials
* Ad hoc portfolio company performance data as required by investors
Requirements:
* You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
* Ideally have experience within a similar role or perhaps within FP&A within Private Equity or Private Markets
* You could also be a fund accounting with experience of carried interest waterfalls
* Have excellent, all-round, communication skills
* Be academically bright and intellectually curious
* Be a natural relationship builder
