Job Description:
My client based in Birmingham is a big brand with a superb international reputation. Due to growth an opportunity has become available for an HR Advisor to join their growing team. Working in a dynamic, fast paced supportive team this is a great role for an aspiring HR Business Partner.
The role will entail: Employee Relations
* Support the HRBPs with the management of ER casework including disciplinary, grievance, conduct and capability issues. This will include advising and guiding managers through the relevant policies and supporting the development and maintenance of performance management
* You will be ensuring legislation, policy and best practice are followed and supporting Managers at various stages of the process where needed
* You will manage your own caseload relating to absence and health issues. This may include giving advice, support, and recommendations to managers on this subject and managing the long-term sickness process. This will include occupational health referrals, sending EAP details, home visits, paperwork, supporting General Managers with welfare meetings.
* Coaching and supporting line managers with difficult conversations as well as ensuring line managers are compliant with policies and procedures, and carrying out HR best practise..
Training and development
* Assist in the design and delivery of HR Training across the company. This may include (but not limited to); skills improvement workshops, case studies, handling performance and conduct issues, legislative changes, anti-harassment training, disciplinary & absence management.
* Supporting managers to produce personal development plans for team members and following up on progress and necessary actions relating to progress
* Assisting managers with coaching conversations to assist in the ongoing development of our talent pool
* Getting involved with the e-learning platform as and when required.
Other duties will include:
* Researching and writing new HR policies
* Updating terms and conditions of employment and employee handbook
* Implementing new HR policies and procedures as and when required
* Recruitment; CV sifting and selection, interviewing and involvement in assessment days
* Keeping track of statistics and trends, and involvement in reporting
Applicants must have previous generalist HR Advisory experience and have experience managing their own ER caseload. You will also have had experience of training and coaching line mangers as ell as generally implementing policy, procedures, and utilising HR data for strategy.
