Job Description:
Adept are excited to be partnering with a leading Oil & Gas manufacturer who due to rapid growth within the past year are looking to recruit a CNC Machinist to join their shop floor team.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Set up and operate CNC machinery to produce precision components according to engineering specifications.
* Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to plan machining processes.
* Develop and edit CNC programs using appropriate software to ensure accurate part dimensions and surface finishes.
* Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments to maintain optimal machine performance.
* Monitor machining operations and make real-time adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
* Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to verify conformance to specifications.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during machining, making necessary adjustments to maintain production flow.
* Collaborate with the engineering and quality assurance teams to optimize machining processes and ensure product quality.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety and quality standards at all times.
* Document production data, machine settings, and quality records accurately.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with a strong background in operating and programming CNC machinery.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents.
* Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters.
* Experience with CNC programming software and G-code programming.
* Familiarity with a variety of CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and multi-axis machining centres.
* Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively.
* Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components.
* Excellent time management skills to meet production schedules.
