Job Description:
Our client is a reputable residential care service located in Droitwich, committed to providing exceptional care and support to children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Their 4-bedded service offers a nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive and reach their full potential.
They are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join their passionate team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing leadership and support to the team, ensuring the highest standards of care and wellbeing for the children and young people in the service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide effective leadership and supervision to the staff.
* Support and mentor team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
* Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child and young person.
* Maintain a safe and nurturing environment within the residential service.
* Liaise with external professionals and agencies to ensure the holistic needs of the children and young people are met.
* Act as a positive role model for staff and young people, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding.
* Complete on call duties on a rota basis.
Requirements:
* Level 3 in Children and Young People and Level 5 in Children and Young People or working towards.
* Previous experience working with children and young people with EBD in a residential setting with at least 2 year’s experience in a supervisory role.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
* Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to residential childcare.
* Full UK Driving License.
* Flexibility to fit on a rota basis- including sleep in’s.
