Job Description:
Role: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Brighton
Hybrid: remote, go into the office 3x per quarter (~once a month)
Salary: £70,000 - £100,000 (dependent on experience)
Insight into the Company:
This is a growing organisation that is working with big household names and has exciting projects lined up! The premise of what they sell is based on a ’customer assistant’ that can promote the best products to customers. Their product is evolving, through the use of AI and ML, so any experience in this would be a massive pro. As a senior data engineer on their team, you will be driving the growth of their product, through designing and building high-quality data pipelines shaping their streaming platform.
The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud technologies, in addition to expertise in data streaming, with technologies such as Kafka, Confluent, Plink etc.) The role will involve working in a team with diverse roles, with software engineers, sales and marketing professionals and more. Therefore, communicating your projects needs and understanding others is an essential part of this role.
Role and Responsibilities:
* You will design, build and upgrade data pipelines
* You will be heading the development of their streaming platform so will have significant experience with streaming platforms, stream processing frameworks and implementation
* You will support the data governance of this emerging product
Skills and Experience:
* Essential to have experience with: * Tracking technologies e.g. Segment
* Python
* Tutoring juniors on the team
* ELT pipelines, in addition to the full data lifecycle
* Handling large data sets
* Desirable to have experience with: * Database technologies e.g. Snowflake
* JavaScript or TypeScript
* Docker
* Building data pipelines over time to suit developing requirements
* DBT for data transformation
