Your new company
Hays are delighted to be working in partnership with a locally established, nationally recognised organisation based in Angus to support in their upcoming requirement for a Senior Bookkeeper on an initial 12 month fixed term contract. This role is being offered on a full time basis to an individual who is interested in securing a longer term contract, with the potential to stay on with the organisation following this period, directly supporting the Company Accountant on site.
Your new role
In your new role, you will be the main finance point of contact for daily and monthly transactional finance tasks by taking accounts up to trial balance including bookkeeping, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, managing payment runs and supporting with stock control. You will proactively support in wider business tasks when required including answering the phones, supporting internal and external stakeholders with queries and offering additional support to the Company Accountant on tasks such as month end reporting.
What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed, you will be an experienced professional who is comfortable working in a small team environment that requires you to be a self-starter, adaptable and confidently able to deal with all types of stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation. You will be someone who can work independently on transactional finance tasks, achieving strict deadlines with accuracy in bookkeeping, journal postings, bank reconciliations and payment runs. You will demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to positively support wider business and finance operations on a daily basis.
What you’ll get in return
In return, you will be offered a competitive base salary of up to £32,000 per annum and the opportunity to take on a longer term contract position to positively support a local organisation that are leaders in their industry. You will secure a 12 month fixed term contract, full time and based in the local Angus office; working with a small but collaborative team.
