As a Systems and Software Engineering Leader you will be accountable for functional, business, and broad company deliverables. In this role you will, lead and develop your team, be involved in the departments long-term planning and strategy, and contribute to the overall business strategy. Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
* Provide functional people leadership to your team ensuring adherence to company and department processes and procedures.
* Empower and lead your team to deliver to our customers on time and within budget whilst assuring the highest technical quality.
* Ensure meaningful metrics are in place to measure the delivery of work within your team and that this data is used to identify issues and solve problems early.
* Effectively manage resource supply and demand for your team, including recruitment of permanent and contract staff, placement of work at GE global sites and outsource of work packages to suppliers
* Be an active member of the department leadership team, delivering the functional growth and improvement plan. Ensure company initiatives and training requirements are implemented within your team.
* Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organisations, functions and within your team, Communicate with engineering management on technical, organizational, resource and staff issues.
* Establish priorities for the engineers in your team that align with company, divisional and campus deliverables. Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback and ongoing coaching
* Define roles and responsibilities for your team, and other assigned personnel.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and participate in salary planning.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics or equivalent knowledge and experience
* Significant years of engineering experience
* Strong interpersonal, people leadership and team-building skills
* Excellent collaborator
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Desired Characteristics
* Experience within an Aerospace engineering environment
* Demonstrated functional and people leadership experience
* A systems thinker, with a strong process orientation in approach to work
* Experience of industry or regulatory requirements
* Experience of Lean methodologies or similar.
* Proven delivery record
