Job Description:
Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for Director of Finance and Procurement in Birmingham on a permanent basis with a major Membership and Regulatory organisation. This Finance and Procurement Director role is paying up to £95,000 per annum.
The Finance and Procurement Director will be leading on the organisation’s financial performance, financial strategy an ensure the development of the Finance and Procurement team.
Main Responsibilities of the Director of Finance and Procurement:
* Develop and enforce financial policies to guide decision-making, manage reserves, and ensure the organisations long-term stability. Provide financial advice during business planning and budgeting and liaise with auditors and advisors.
* Lead the creation of annual budgets and forecasts aligned with strategic goals. Ensure accurate financial management and reporting, including the production of management accounts, compliance with accounting standards, and effective cash flow management.
* Oversee all accounting systems, payrolls, and statutory reporting, including tax, VAT, and compliance with regulatory standards. Ensure timely production of statutory annual accounts.
* Direct the Finance team, set clear performance goals, and ensure compliance with policies, including data protection and health & safety.
* Work closely with other departments, attend Council meetings, and lead financial projects. Deputise for the Director when needed.
Person Specification of the Director of Finance and Procurement:
* Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA
* Demonstrable experience within Senior Management
* Experience developing staff at all levels with their professional development
* Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail to ensure operational excellence in Finance.
* Formulate and communicate a vision for Finance aligned with the organisation’s overall strategy.
* Effectively guide, motivate, and engage both staff and stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
* Confidently interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Maintain high standards in current services while implementing necessary changes for future success.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, clearly articulating strategies and objectives.
* Demonstrated dedication to promoting equality and diversity.
