Design Engineer
Permanent
Newtown
Monday-Friday 07:30-16:30
Salary: Up to £35000 annually: subject to experience and skill set.
An exciting opportunity for a customer-focused Design Engineer to join our clients team within the Newtown area. The role will involve liaison and management of proposals and projects with customers, planning and production elements of the company’s Sheet metal productions cells with a key focus on quality, service and satisfaction levels. Job Tasks and Responsibilities
* Gain market knowledge, research, and identify new opportunities.
* Liaise with clients to develop new leads.
* Using the most cost-effective method, prepare quotations for CNC machined parts, and welding & fabrication work with an awareness of the current market values.
* Quote Sheet metal parts, including laser cutting and folding.
* Sell company services to current and potential customers to achieve individual and company targets ensuring customer relationship is maintained.
* Follow up on quotations to secure the order and collect feedback for future quotations.
* Liaise with Production on capacity and deadlines.
* Raise Sales Orders on ERP systems.
Desirable Skills
* An understanding of core manufacturing processes inc. laser, press brake, machining, and welding.
* Strong abilities within relationship building, negotiation and estimation building.
* 2D/3D CAD & nesting experience.
* Good market awareness.
* Good product knowledge.
Required Skills
* Computer literate - Microsoft packages.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Numeracy & literacy skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Energetic and proactive approach.
* Ability to work under pressure and to timescales.
