Packaging Buyer / Manager
Greater Manchester / South Manchester
£40,000 - £50,000 plus excellent benefits
Our client is an awarding winning textiles manufacturer, supplying UK High Street retailers, Major Supermarkets and Online retailers. They now have a fantastic opportunity for a Packaging Buyer to join the business. Operating across 2 sites in North and South Manchester you will become part of an established, dynamic buying team.
Responsibilities include:
* Manage all packaging across all departments and products categories. This would include:
* Printed poly bags
* Non-woven bags
* Card inserts and wrap bands
* Commodity shippers and cartons
* Printed shippers
* Work with multiple stakeholders such as purchasing, buying, design and marketing
* Gatekeeper for the project management of packaging and design in line with the critical path
* Overall lead and responsibility for packaging innovation, value engineering and cost saving.
* Control and report on all packaging projects from budgets to barriers for project progression.
* Responsible for attending print runs and final gold seal approval to ensure Brand consistency across ranges
* Have an understanding of commodities pricing, packaging tax, etc
What will you need?
* Desire to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, you will want to leave your mark and make a difference.
* Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills. Able to prioritise workload across multiple projects to ensure deadlines are met, with an ability to multitask.
* First class communication skills, able to work cross functionally and build key relationships across departments.
* Laser-like attention to detail. You will have a relentless focus on ’right first time’ delivery.
* Driving licence - requirement to travel between offices in Wilmslow and Middleton.
