This Electrical Design Engineer role is working for a renowned engineering company in Greater Manchester that specialises in bespoke switchgear solutions. The role offers a Monday to Friday standard office hours working week, with an early finish on a Friday. The role is paying up to £45,000 depending on experience.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be pivotal in developing custom solutions for a variety of HV and LV switchgear projects. Your role will include preparing detailed electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, single-line diagrams, and general arrangement layout drawings. You will collaborate closely with different teams, including manufacturing and testing departments, to ensure high-quality project delivery. Your responsibilities will include interpreting customer specifications, configuring switchgear layouts, and supporting the project management team from concept through to final documentation.
You will need:
* 2+ years’ experience in Switchgear design
* Proficiency using different CAD software
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
* Familiarity with Modbus, TCP/IP communication protocols, and RS-485 and Ethernet interfaces
* Experience with power circuit monitoring, protective relaying, and Automatic Changeover Circuits for Circuit Breakers (ACB’s, MCCB’s)
