Job Description:
* The Buyer will conduct day-to day procurement activities, whilst assisting the Purchasing Manager on delivering the strategic vision of that area of the business

Description
* Assist with the managing of all the company’s external suppliers, handling negotiations, and driving for cost reductions, terms and working capital improvements.
* Involvement in site wide inventory and stock turns targets, working in close collaboration with Production, Engineering, and Controls departments.
* Close collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Technical departments with regards to product development and involvement in all purchase and supply chain activities to drive best in class solutions.
* Work with suppliers, ensuring best terms, quality, lead-times, and price.
* Work alongside the Procurement Manager and Stores departments to develop and further add value.
* Ensure MRP generated requisitions are actioned in a timely manner to make sure selected suppliers can deliver on time to meet the production program.
* Day-to-day ordering of non-stock purchased items.
* Work alongside the Procurement Manager to establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the business’s needs.
* Identify new suppliers for specified material groups.
* Foster close working relationships with other departments - Commercial, Production, Technical and Finance.
* Continually improve purchasing methods through supplier visits, value analysis, and drive down external spend.
* Work with the production, commercial and finance teams for the smooth flow of the supply chain.
* Liaise with key suppliers to ensure smooth inflow of key raw materials and non-stock items on time and in full.
* Analyse inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns and reduce waste.
* Work alongside the Purchasing Manager to help forecast levels of demand for materials to meet the business needs and keep a constant check on inventory levels to improve inventory turns.
* Undertake other tasks which may be required to assist the department.
* Ensure compliance with all associated standards including but not limited to ISO, H&S and Environmental
Profile
* Experience of manufacturing ideal, open to industry
* Procurement experience (junior/senior)
* Willingness to travel to site
