Job Description:
Key Recruitment Ltd are currently recruiting for a Yard Person to work for one of our clients based in Havant.
Role:
To maintain a tidy warehouse/yard. Duties will be unloading and loading deliveries using a forklift, checking and maintenance of plant and equipment, as well as general cleaning and maintenance of the warehouse and surrounding yard.
Accountabilites:
* Assist with forklift duties, including loading and unloading materials from a variety of vehicles, moving pallet-packed materials around site, checking loads are secure and performing equipment checks and basic maintenance as required.
* Ensure accurate logging of despatch and return of plant and equipment which is loaned out to operatives, including checking the equipment goes out and is returned in full working order.
* Clean and undertake low level maintenance of plant and equipment where necessary. When required, organise for repairs to be undertaken in a timely manner.
* PAT testing of portable equipment and maintaining the log of equipment tested
* Assist with the picking of products in our warehouse.
* Ensure goods are loaded onto our company vehicles in a safe manner
* Collect any rubbish from the offices for disposal in to the skips
* Ensure the yard is kept clean and tidy at all times
* Ensure that all duties undertaken are carried out in accordance with good risk management and health & safety policies
* Assist with the accurate logging/maintenance of asbestos waste returns & waste transfer papers
Requirements:
* Full Clean driving licence
* Forklift licence - counterbalance
* Computer literate – with a good knowledge of excel
* Previous warehouse experience
* Experience in ’small’ plant and tool maintenance
* Excellent organisational/time management skills
* Team player who can also prioritise works without instruction
* Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
* Strong communication skills
Experience:
Experience of using/dealing with low level maintenance of plant and equipment / ideally you will have a trade counter or yard experience or background.
Experience of PAT testing is preferred.
Hours of Work:
Monday-Friday 08:30-17:00
40 hours per week
This role will a be temporary to permanent for the right candidate.
Salary:
Negotiable depending on experience.
