Global Markets - Relationship Manager
  • England,London
  • full-time
  • Competitive salary
Job Description:
A top tier consulting group is looking to hire someone with good markets knowledge to work on strategic projects with top investment banks. You will be delivering for Heads of Sales, Trading and Strategy at major banks, looking at their data strategy, market alignment and executing benchmarking projects. This is not any old data business; this firm has small numbers of consultants managing very senior people in banks, where their work is challenged in Board meetings - a similar set up to McKinsey and BCG; in fact, the last CEO who built the busness was ex McKinsey. He took the firm from £10m to £100m revenue in 10 years.
This would suit someone looking to pivot from a role in Markets in a bank who has a good all-round skilllset to present to senior stakeholders in banks and be comfortable working with data. It would also be suitable for someone from another top tier consulting firm or data strategy/vendor business who would like a step up in intellectual challenge and team leadership.
Our client has built a £100m business, working with all the major banks on their data, benchmarking and positioning in the market. Products include revenue benchmarking, client wallets analysis and ESG data shaping and strategy.
We are looking for 2-3 people currently in the salary range £60-100K base + strong bonus. The team is looking for someone at the bottom of that range and well as towards the top end.
We are looking for:
1. Strong markets knowledge and a passion for the markets, ideally with a cross-product view though we are open to those with a more narrow focus and high potential to grow quickly
2. Ability to work with large data sets, though we are not looking for a ’data expert’ - only someone comfortable with data who can apply it strategically (more of a consultative/strategic skillset)
3. Agility - this team works with different banks and different products; the individial will need to learn and adapt quickly to new environments
4. Client-facing skills - you will need to present your findings to senior stakeholders in banks, often coming up with a creative message and the ’strategic view’ from the data you are looking at
Hires can expect to lead banking accounts, grow teams, get involved in research products, build new markets, help the firm adopt and grow with AI... the culture is very progressive yet Diversity is absolutely central to the firm’s success. Half of our placements have been women and the firm actively encourages a good work-life balance, despite working with banks of all shapes and sizes.
3 days per week in the office. 1-2 more flexible. Office is Moorgate.
