Job Description:
Accelerate Teaching is excited to announce an excellent opportunity for a Science Technician at a dynamic secondary school in Leeds. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to join our science department starting in September 2024.
About the Role: As a Science Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the science department, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will help inspire the next generation of scientists by providing hands-on support during experiments and maintaining a safe and organised laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science lessons, including practical experiments and demonstrations.
* Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained and stored correctly.
* Assist teachers during practical lessons, offering technical support and guidance to students.
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Manage inventory and order new supplies as needed.
* Provide support for extra-curricular science activities and events.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school setting is essential.
* Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A proactive approach with a passion for science education.
