Teaching Assistant for ASD and Challenging Behaviour Support

Position Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join our client school’s dedicated team on a full-time, long-term basis. This role involves working with children who have ASD and other related communication, interaction, social, imagination, sensory, and learning difficulties. Given the nature of the position, confidence and experience in managing challenging behaviour are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students in their social and emotional engagement with learning, fostering independence.
* Collaborate effectively as part of a team.
* Promote the inclusion and participation of all students.
* Assist class teachers in creating a supportive and relaxed classroom environment.
Requirements:
* Understanding of communication, attachment theory, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in the classroom.
* Relevant experience or transferable skills.
* A valid DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
* Satisfactory references.
