Job Description:
CMG are excited to be partnering with a leading global Travel business, who are an established brand but maintain an inquisitive ’start up’ mind set.
They are currently looking to appoint a Director of Financial Control who will sit as the number 2 in finance, managing a wider team of 12.
Candidates MUST have travel sector experience.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Deputise for the Group CFO and collaborate with senior stakeholders to develop and embed clear standards of quality and service
* Lead, support and cultivate a high performing finance
* Deliver, lead and advise on significant operational projects for the business, influencing other nonfinance teams to achieve a successful completion. Ability to impact and project manage cross departmental teams
* Design finance processes on change projects (IT and non-IT)
* Maintain a robust financial control environment
* Ensure up to date and robust balance sheet reconciliations, with risks and opportunities appropriately reported and managed.
* Produce and improve timely and insightful management accounts for the required monthly deadlines.
* Take ownership of financial processing (i.e. accounts payable, credit control, etc,) to deliver best in class service levels and efficient transaction processing.
* Deliver continuous improvement in the efficiency, quality and consistency of accounting and reporting
* Manage the adoption of a new ERP system
* Oversee the annual audit process, tax and other regulatory reporting processes
* Review and assist collation of material to support cash and currency requirements.
Skills:
* ACA/ACCA/CA qualified with audit and controls experience.
* Strong treasury and FX knowledge including hedging.
* Knowledge of payment gateways, solutions and fraud protections.
* Experience of leading and developing Financial teams.
* Demonstrable ability to build strong, scalable systems and procedures.
* Business partnering & strategic skills - ability to challenge and influence at senior levels
