Job Description:
Bells of Lazonby have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operative
to join the team.
Location: Lazonby, Cumbria
Salary: : £12.02 - £15.03 per hour, plus 25% overtime rates
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday working 9:00am – 5.15 (Occasional Saturday Work)
Free Transport to and from Lazonby from Penrith Locations

We are an established family bakery with a taste for quality, having created delicious products for over 75 years. We produce baked goods for retail and food service. We operate two bakeries: a conventional Bakery and a dedicated Gluten, Wheat and Milk Free Bakery avoiding 12 out of the 14 notifiable allergens.
We specialise in cake and sweet pastry tart products and supply all the major UK retailers with ambient Free from Ranges and a number of the leading Coffee Shop Chains with ambient and frozen ranges.

Warehouse Operative
– Key Responsibilities:
Preparing Ingredient Materials:
- Accurately measure and prepare ingredient materials according to production schedules
- Ensure all ingredients meet quality standards and are free from contamination
- Label and document all prepared materials appropriately
Preparing Packaging Materials:
- Select and prepare packaging materials required for production runs
- Ensure packaging materials are in good condition and meet the specifications for the products being packaged
- Maintain an organised inventory of packaging supplies
Supporting Production Units:
- Deliver prepared ingredients and packaging materials to the appropriate production units in a timely manner
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of production lines as needed
- Communicate effectively with production staff to ensure materials are delivered as required
Inventory Management:
- Track and record inventory levels of ingredients and packaging materials
- Conduct regular stock checks and report any discrepancies
Maintaining Cleanliness and Safety:
- Keep the warehouse area clean, organised, and free of hazards
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Use equipment and machinery safely and responsibly
Warehouse Operative
– You:
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles
- Ability to lift and move heavy items as required
- Forklift driving (training will be provided)
