Job Description:
Laboratory Equipment Manager
* Annual Salary: £30k - £35k
* Location: Cambridgeshire
Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Laboratory Equipment Manager to oversee and coordinate the maintenance, repair, qualification, calibration and troubleshooting of analytical and production equipment across our client’s business. This role requires a flexible and supportive approach to meet evolving business needs and ensure service excellence. It’s a great opportunity for any Analytical Chemists or QC Analysts that enjoy troubleshooting laboratory equipment and want to enter the realm of people management.
Day to Day of the Role:
* Manage the Equipment Team’s schedule to ensure timely routine maintenance and ad-hoc repairs.
* Carry out or delegate reactive repairs and qualification to lab equipment, minimising downtime and monitoring performance against KPIs.
* Develop specialist technical knowledge on a range of equipment and lead procurement processes.
* Support projects, including equipment relocation and procurement.
* Review and approve qualification data and ensure compliance with QMS records.
* Provide management updates on team performance, equipment issues, and project progress.
* Communicate effectively with the Manager and maintain key relationships across the business.
* Perform tasks in accordance with company procedures and GMP principles.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience with a range of laboratory equipment, particularly HPLC.
* Previous calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical equipment.
* Preferably experienced in a GMP environment.
* Experience in leading a team is desirable, but not essential
* Excellent IT literacy and organisational skills.
* Strong communication skills and experience in team management.
* Flexibility to meet the business needs.
