Job Title: Junior PHP / Laravel Developer
Location: Darlington (Hybrid working)
Salary: Up to £30,000
NRG is thrilled to announce that we have partnered with a highly regarded Health and Fitness industry brand as they seek a talented Software Developer who will play a crucial role in developing a vital business system.. This presents an exciting prospect, given our client’s substantial growth in their Software Development team.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
* Optimise MySQL databases, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
* Implement data migration tasks to transfer and synchronize data between different systems and databases.
* Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance the functionality of existing applications.
* Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
* Perform unit testing and debugging to identify and resolve software defects in a timely manner.
* Participate in code reviews to provide feedback on code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.
* Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshooting issues related to PHP applications and MySQL databases.
Requirements:
* Experience using Laravel framework (or another modern framework)
* Professional experience in PHP / Laravel development and MySQL database management.
* Strong understanding of MySQL database fundamentals, SQL query optimization, and database normalization.
* Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
* Working knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
