Description
* Act as point of contact with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
* Monitor data management procedures and ensure they comply with GDPR and UK data protection laws.
* Provide advice and instructions to staff about data protection.
* Ensure data protection policies are in place and updated as required.
* Provide data protection awareness training to staff members.
* Conduct audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues proactively.
* Manage and draft date protection impact assessments.
* Manage data protection projects and initiatives.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure data protection compliance.a
Profile
* A successful Data Protection Officer should have:
* An academic background in law, IT or related field.
* Proven experience in a data protection role within the Legal industry.
* Expert knowledge of GDPR and national data protection laws.
* Sound understanding of IT and data management systems.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, non-legalistic language.
