Overview

The Disaster Recovery Manager is responsible for promoting, supporting & managing IT Disaster Recovery services for the Gallagher organisation, including those actions defined in the minimum standards of the corporate Gallagher IT Policies.
The Disaster Recovery Manager achieves this by helping everyone understand Business Continuity, IT Service Continuity & Disaster Recovery theory, practices, rules, and values.
The Disaster Recovery Manager serves the organisation in several ways, including:
* Leading and coaching the organisation in its Disaster Recovery obligations.
* Planning Disaster Recovery events & implementations within the organisation
* Helping employees and stakeholders understand and enact Disaster Recovery and its subsequent development.
* Staying current with the changing business & IT environment to increase the productivity of the DR Team
* Working with other Managers to increase the effectiveness of the application of Disaster Recovery in the organisation.

How you’ll make an impact

As the manager of the IT Disaster Recovery Team, you will be accountable for:
* Ensures that goals, scope, and outcomes are understood by everyone on the team
* Guides, but does not direct, the workload of the team, ensuring that work is spread as evenly as possible.
* Manage the path to annual corporate Disaster Recovery compliance by leading and coaching through completing its Disaster Recovery activities.
* Provides advice, assistance, and leadership in improving the quality of Disaster Recovery by working closely with colleagues.
* Brings about improvements/benefits by identifying, proposing, initiating and leading.
* Be a key participant in the Gallagher IT community.
* Takes part in selection interviews for hiring new team members and other practitioners.
* Mentors, coaches and otherwise helps develop team members.
* Liaise with Business Continuity Managers to co-ordinate/align/harmonise Disaster Recovery process with Business Continuity-owned practices.
* Maintain IT Dept Crisis Management Plans, supporting facilities (WebEx/WalletCards etc) & run exercises annually.
* Be the main point of contact for Business Continuity planning for the IT Department
* Produce & provide DR Statistics for management reporting purposes.
* Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance, and Gallagher’s shared values.
* Ensure the junior members of the IT Continuity team are competent in their work & being utilised effectively in conjunction with developing appropriate development plans

About You

* Extensive experience of working with Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery environments and/or solutions
* Demonstrable evidence of working towards set deadlines.
* Using initiative when dealing with challenges.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate effectively.
* Pro-active approach.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
* Flexible approach to the challenges of a changing environment.
* High level of professionalism, trust and integrity.
* Close attention to detail and accuracy.
* Member of the BCI/DRII or equivalent practical knowledge/experience.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
