Our client is a social housing provider with a real focus on developing good quality affordable housing. Currently they are seeking an Income Officer for a Temporary role
To apply candidates should have worked in a similar role within social housing and have some prior knowledge on benefits and how to manage rent arrears.
Duties will include:
* Manage a caseload of customers in arrears, focusing on lower-level casework
* Contact customers through various methods (phone, email, letters, face-to-face) to discuss arrears and make repayment arrangements
* Provide basic budgeting advice to support customers in managing their financial situation
* Assist customers with benefit entitlements, offering guidance on how to apply or maximize their claims
* Maintain accurate records of all communications and payment arrangements
* Negotiate repayment terms that balance customer affordability and organizational requirements
* Escalate complex cases to senior officers when necessary
* Confidently handle challenging and difficult conversations with customers, maintaining professionalism
Please note this role will require an up to date Basic DBS.
