Job Description:
As the Senior Data Management Analyst, you will be responsible for continuous evolution of data management practices extending to include Data Quality, Data Governance and Data Compliance.
Robust understanding of Data Management Platforms and associated tooling (e.g., OneTrust, PowerBI, Precisely) will be advantageous. This includes defining and proposing data management targets, assessment against rules established through direct engagement with the business to define and estimate the impact of each target and their current levels under each dimension through to visualisation.
You will take a leading role in supporting the organisation in improving the quality of its data by acquiring data to be brought under governance and perform data profiling analysis to understand it’s origination, definition, lineage, ownership and any associated business rules through to meaningful insights for both commercial and risk management purposes. A collaborative approach will be adopted to develop ideas that could address gaps identified, you will be implementing treatment strategies aimed at improving the management of data.
What you’ll be doing
* Define, embed & evolve a data management framework with appropriate standards, forums and procedures
* Extend into wider data management subjects e.g. Data Protection, Data Governance, Data Quality Management, Data Quality in the pipeline, Master Data Management etc.,)
* Design, implement & maintain data quality technology (including development of requirements and technical pre-requisites such as data connectors, pipelines, integration, and infrastructure)
* Partner with key project initiatives and act as escalation point with ability drive solutions
* Develop data management capabilities and data quality insights, with potential to lead initiatives
* Create & validate data quality rules and consult with business stakeholders to determine the impact of new data standards
* Design & maintain data quality dashboards and reporting
* Conduct data quality audits, identify issues, monitor trends, monitor quality of incoming data, and establish KPIs
* Embed and manage triage, prioritisation & workflow processes for data quality issues, including reporting and escalations
* Engage with Data Owners and project teams on the quality of data in their scope, recommend solutions and drive root cause analysis, remediation and escalations as appropriate
* Recommend new data collection methods or technologies as needed to improve the quality of data
* Define data risk management controls in line with Group Data Policy and the Risk Management Systems Provide best practice, training, advice and guidance to business and technology colleagues Coaching and mentoring for Data Management Analysts
About you
* Commercially focussed with a value enablement approach to data quality management
* Strong project and stakeholder management skills and ability to deliver results
* Proven experience in the design and technical implementation of data management technology (i.e. OneTrust, Informatica, Collibra, Solidatus, Purview, Precisely)
* Experience in defining and implementing data management frameworks, processes, standards and controls
* Advanced SQL or similar skills to support data analysis and data quality rule creation Experience in data profiling / discovery and developing data quality reports / dashboards (ideally in Power BI)
* Good understanding of databases, data models, ETL processes, data pipelines, APIs and connectors Good understanding of DAMA and DCAM frameworks for industry best practice on Data Management
Interview process
This will be a two-stage interview process, including competency-based questions and a task.
Working Schedule
The role is based in our Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is a permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern.
