Purpose of the Role:
The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Sustainability and Environment Manager who will lead on the delivery of the college’s sustainability strategy.
The post holder will plan, manage and coordinate projects and initiatives across the college ensuring alignment with the Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy. You will develop and embed sustainability into college culture and review and update the college’s sustainability policy.
Key responsibilities will include providing written reports to Governors and other stakeholders and completing streamlined energy and carbon reporting returns. Other duties include seeking out new funding streams, leading training to upskill staff and embedding carbon literacy within relevant study programmes across the college.
You will work with the Facilities Manager to review energy usage and support investment in energy efficiency, as well as work in partnership with the Facilities Manager and Financial Controller to reduce the college’s energy costs. You will chair the college’s Environment Group and work closely with the student Environment Ambassadors, supporting them to lead on the annual college Environment Week. The post holder will also collaborate closely with various departments across the college to promote, embed and improve sustainability.
