Job Description:
MacKenzie King are delighted recruiting a Customer Service / Accounts Assistant for a local, family run haulage company based in Ipswich. The Customer Service / Accounts Assistant role would be suited to an individual who takes pride in their meticulous attention to detail, and enjoys maintaining personable, professional relationships with both customers and clients.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
*Checking containers are cleared, landed and released
*Maintaining regular communication with operations team
*Registering containers via the VBS system
*Checking Destin8 to ensure containers are within required weight allocation
*Forwarding late runners and ancil emails to the correct customers/groups
*Keeping an eye on waiting times in Truckcom and ensure customers are informed of demurrage charges ahead of time
*Management of the Operations inbox
*Inputting new jobs and making amendments where necessary
*Ensuring Truckcom is up to date at all times
*Handling incoming calls in a professional and knowledgeable manner
*Using approved Haulier and Sub-contractor lists to delegate work
*Booking gensets accurately in good time
*Arranging for off dock storage, calculating and setting costs accurately
*Send weekly rate sheets, uploading CMRs
*Uploading customer communication into job history
*Setting up new employees, ensuring relevant paperwork is received and saved to P-File
*Processing new Sub-contractor details and monitor existing Sub-contractor insurance expiration
*Processing purchase ledger invoices through Verify
*Processing Supplier Weekly & Monthly Payment runs
*Maintaining Vehicle Maintenance & driver compliance
*Providing cover for the accounts department
Qualifications & Experience
*Strong attention to detail
*Personable and professional demeanour
*Experience in the haulage industry is desirable
*Previous experience within a team environment
*Willingness to learn and expand within the role
