Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated temporary School Librarian to manage the school Study Centre to ensure it aligns with and enhances the educational objectives of the school located in the heart of East London.
The ideal candidate will be proactive in maintaining a well-stocked and organised environment that supports all areas of the curriculum and encourages student learning.
Day to Day of the role:
Manage the Study Centre to support and enhance the school’s educational aims.
Engage with external providers to maximise the availability and use of appropriate materials.
Stay informed on developments in librarianship, relevant literature, and ICT.
Oversee the organisation and daily management of the Study Centre, making it accessible to students and staff during and outside school hours.
Direct and supervise the work of any assigned support staff.
Adhere to all relevant school policies, including those related to Confidentiality, Safeguarding, Financial Regulations, Health & Safety, and Equal Opportunities.
Model exemplary behaviour and conduct for students and staff.
Undertake additional duties as directed by the principal or line managers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in librarianship or a related field.
Strong organisational and management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of current educational materials and literature.
Proficiency in ICT and library management systems.
Ability to work collaboratively with school leadership and external providers.
Commitment to professional development and training.
Understanding of school policies and a commitment to their implementation.
