Job Description:
Job Title: Accounts Assistant / Administrator
Location: Aberdeenshire
Hours: up to 16 hours per week (flexible working schedule)
Salary: £13 per hour
Independently owned business in Aberdeenshire, looking for a dedicated and hardworking Accounts Assistant to support Senior Accountant. This is a varied role that will provide valuable experience not only in accounting but also in general administrative duties. If you have a positive attitude, a flexible approach to work, and experience in bookkeeping and accounting, this may be the opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Senior Accountant with day-to-day accounting tasks
* Bookkeeping, including maintaining and reconciling ledgers, bank accounts, and managing transactions
* Prepare invoices, process payments, and manage supplier accounts
* Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes
* Support in the preparation of VAT returns and other compliance reporting
* Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
* Work with Xero to ensure records are up-to-date and accurate
* Assist with payroll and staff expenses
* Perform general administrative duties as needed
* Handle other ad-hoc tasks to support the business, including assisting with non-financial aspects of operations
Required Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar role
* Proficiency in Xero accounting software
* Strong organisational and multitasking skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
* Flexible approach to working hours and tasks
* A positive attitude and a willingness to support various areas of the business
