Salary: M1 to UPS3 + TLR (Mainscale + TLR)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Department for Business and Economics to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to lead our Business and Economics department, shaping the curriculum and driving academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
*Lead the Business and Economics department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
*Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, in line with the school’s curriculum.
*Manage and mentor departmental staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive teaching environment.
*Monitor student progress and use data-driven strategies to support and improve achievement.
*Take responsibility for the development and implementation of the department’s strategic plan.
*Ensure the department meets school objectives and remains compliant with educational standards and regulations.
*Collaborate with the senior leadership team to promote the subject and support whole-school initiatives.
*Participate in school events, contribute to extracurricular activities, and support the wider school community.
Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*Extensive subject knowledge in Business and Economics, with the ability to teach up to Key Stage 5.
*Previous experience in a leadership role or as a second-in-command within a department is highly desirable.
*Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire both staff and students.
*Proven track record of raising academic standards and delivering successful outcomes.
