Job Description:
Programme Support Office Manager
London or Manchester (hybrid working model, 2 days a week office based, 3 days remote)

Fantastic opportunity to secure a role as a Programme Support Office Manager on a permanent basis. Programme Support Office Managers are part of the Programme Leadership Team acting as role models, setting standards for programme delivery, demonstrating thought leadership, supporting delivery transformation activity and coaching/developing project managers. The Programme Support Office Manager role requires a strong focus on line management, including the management and development of Programme Support Analysts.
What will you be doing?
• Develop and implement the PSO vision and strategy and ensure alignment of the PSO with the DCC strategic objectives.
• Promote project management best practices and continuous improvement within Service Delivery alongside establishing and enforcing project management standards and methodologies.
• Develop and maintain programme management frameworks, templates, and guidelines.
• Define and track key performance indicators [KPIs] for success and provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on status, risks, and issues.
• Deputise for Programme Directors within DCC and at regulatory forums as and when needed on programme specific matters.
• Hold external suppliers to account on reporting, milestone completion and dependencies.
• Line Management, manage a small team of embedded PSO Analysts through:
What are we looking for?
• Extensive demonstrable experience leading programme support or project management offices in complex multi-faceted programmes involving multiple internal and external stakeholders including customer groups, and regulators and government and/ or public bodies.
• Extensive line management experience in a high pressure, challenging and ever-changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to gain credibility with executive level stakeholders.
• Ability to use Microsoft Project and Excel to an advanced level.
• Proficiency in Project Management tools (e.g., MS Project, Clarity).
