Job Title: Electrical/Mechanical Multi-skilled Engineer
Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire
*Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM
*Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications

Our client is one of the UK’s largest and most established organisations specialising in the service, repair, and maintenance of cutting machinery and systems.
Due to continued expansion, this is a fantastic opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer to join a dedicated team of professionals.
Main Purpose of the Job:
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Industrial Multi-skilled Engineer with both electrical and mechanical expertise. This role primarily involves wiring control panels and machinery, with a focus on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of cutting-edge industrial products and systems. The ideal candidate should be an inventive problem-solver, capable of working independently or within a team. The position is factory-based, with the possibility of occasional fieldwork, providing an opportunity to join a growing team that serves clients locally and across Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
*Assist in the build and assembly of cutting machinery.
*Perform fault finding, maintenance, and repair on reconditioned machinery.
*Interpret and work from mechanical and electrical drawings.
*Apply bench fitting, machining, and fabrication skills (desirable but not essential).
*Handle new machinery installations as well as rebuilds of older equipment.
*Occasionally work on-site with heavy-lifting equipment such as cranes (training provided).
*Ensure compliance with modern safety control systems.
Skills & Qualifications:
*Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar industrial or maintenance role (3–5 years preferred).
*Strong understanding of electrical systems and wiring.
*Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics preferred.
*Machining and fabrication skills would be advantageous.
*Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
*Electrical bias is preferred, but familiarity with hydraulic and mechanical equipment is beneficial.
*Good communication skills and ability to provide pragmatic solutions to technical problems.
*Motivated to work with industrial equipment and ensure projects are completed on time.
