Job Description:
Role: Head of Procurement
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + bonus
Contract: Permanent
Location: Merseyside
Client:
We are currently recruiting a Head of Procurement for a Public Sector organisation in Merseyside. The role will focus on developing their procurement strategy whilst working on strategic procurement projects across a number of different category areas.
Role:
*Ensure the delivery of a strategic plan in line with the organisation’s vision/value
*Lead a small team
*Drive continuous improvement and create social value through your procurement work
*Liaise with suppliers, stakeholders and your procurement network to keep up to date with market trends
*Build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
*Develop strategies and business cases for new procurement projects
*Identify areas for added value and cost savings
*Provide procurement advice and guidance
*Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement legislation
*Improve performance with innovative supply chain strategies and maintain strong supplier relationships
*Provide commercial advice and strategic risk management
*Auditing and report writing
Person:
*Staff management experience
*Strategic procurement experience
*Knowledge of Public Sector procurement processes
*Knowledge of public sector frameworks
*MCIPS qualified
