Job Description:
Position: Interim Buyer
Duration: Initial 3 months, with potential for extension
Location: Primarily on-site, with option for one day per week remote
Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Buyer / Procurement Specialist to join our team on an interim basis. This role focuses on technical procurement, particularly within the mechanical and electronic categories.
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan and organise work schedules for mechanical and electronic categories.
*Ensure procurement of goods and services meets optimised cost, timely delivery, and required quality standards.
*Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best terms for the business.
*Liaise extensively with budget holders to understand stakeholder requirements and facilitate effective procurement activities.
*Advise on negotiation outcomes and alternative strategies to meet budgetary targets or desired outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Strong background in engineering or manufacturing environments, with a solid understanding of technical drawings and manufacturing processes.
*Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
*Outstanding communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
