Your Company:
A highly successful manufacturing business is seeking a Sales Engineer to join the growing, dynamic team located in the Southampton area. As a business that supports various innovative industries such as aerospace, defence, Formula 1 and high-end performance vehicles, they are leader within their field and have built up a wealth of success, producing parts from technically demanding materials and building a loyal and extensive customer base. Reporting into the Head of Sales, the position holder will be responsible for lead generation, advancing opportunities and closing deals, whilst also collaborating with the vehicle designers and manufacturers to provide a cohesive service.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
*Acting as a key point of contact and subject matter expert for customers regarding all queries about sales and service, providing a high-class level of customer service
*Keeping internal communications clear and open regarding the emergence of new opportunities from existing and new customers
*Ensuring that customers are supported to understand their own requirements and displaying how the business can support these, including offering bespoke engineering services and tailoring sales proposals
*Seeking opportunities to add commercial value for the customers at any chance given
*Supporting the marketing and service offering teams with market knowledge and insights to improve the business offerings and how they are targeted to customers
*Liaising with internal departments to ensure every step from inception to the delivery of products/service runs smoothly, meets customer expectations and that communication is kept at the forefront of priorities
What you will need to Apply:
The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience working with a Sales Engineering capacity and will have ideally excellent technical knowledge relating to the relevant industries. A keen communicator is what is needed and someone who can proactively identify and pursue leads to bring in new business, gain an understanding of complex customer needs and effectively demonstrate how the business can support these needs to win over business. Ideally a qualification relevant to engineering would be possessed, either a HNC or equivalent, although applicants who are ’qualified by experience’ will be considered too. Good computer competency is required, particularly with using a CRM or ERP system. Any additional knowledge encompassing ISO9001 or AS9100 quality systems would be beneficial.
What you will get in Return:
For the successful candidate a base salary of up to £60,000 would be on offer, depending highly on the relevant experience possessed. This will also accompany a car allowance, excellent annual leave offerings and additional reward schemes related to business drivers.
