Job Description:
We are proud to be partnering with a prestigious law firm that combines a rich history with modern innovation. This leading firm, formed via a merger in 2020, is recognised as one of The Times’ Best Law Firms 2024, with top-tier rankings in The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners. With over 450 professionals across multiple offices in the South-East and London, the firm is committed to putting people first, offering a human-first approach, and nurturing strong, long-term relationships with its clients. As a career law firm, they are renowned for creating an inclusive, supportive environment where professional growth thrives.
The firm is seeking an Associate to join their highly-regarded Private Wealth Team based in Guildford. You’ll need 4-7 PQE years of experience in managing your own caseload of private client matters, although they’re keen to speak to anyone ready to step into an Associate role. Experience in private wealth law is essential, particularly in dealing with high-net-worth clients and handling a variety of matters, including wills, trusts, and inheritance tax planning.
Led by an award-winning Partner, this close-knit Private Wealth Team is known for its collaborative, empathetic culture. They work with a variety of high-net-worth individuals (assets ranging from £5m-£20m), providing support on personal, sometimes life-changing, matters. You will have the opportunity to develop your career within a team that values mentoring, teamwork, and creativity in finding solutions that meet clients’ long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing your own caseload of private client matters, including wills, powers of attorney, and estate administration
*Providing tax advice, estate planning, and handling trust creation
*Building and maintaining relationships with high-net-worth clients
*Assisting in the development of less experienced team members, including trainees and solicitors
*Actively participating in marketing and business development activities
Impact of the Role
This role is pivotal in ensuring the firm’s private wealth clients receive exceptional service. Your expertise will contribute to safeguarding the assets and legacies of clients, making a significant impact on their financial and personal wellbeing. The position also offers excellent opportunities for professional development as you grow within the team and contribute to the firm’s ongoing success.
Working Options
The firm offers flexible working arrangements, including a hybrid work setup after the probationary period. While the role is full-time, the firm is open to discussing alternative working patterns to support work-life balance.
Location
Based in the firm’s modern Guildford office, you’ll work closely with colleagues from across the region. The role is easily commutable from surrounding areas and offers flexible working options.
Salary and Benefits
*Competitive salary
*28 days of annual leave
*Private medical insurance, income protection, and life assurance
*Firm wide bonus scheme
*Generous pension contribution
*Ongoing professional development and career progression
*Hybrid working options
*A culture that prioritises work-life balance
CSR and Community Involvement
The firm is passionate about giving back, and its employees actively contribute to community outreach programs and charitable initiatives. By fostering a culture of care, the firm continues to make a positive difference within its local communities.
