About the role
Are you a hands-on leader with warehouse management experience? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where organisation and efficiency are key? Join our team as a Floor (Warehouse) Manager at our Tottenham Depot, where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring smooth daily operations and supporting the success of our logistics team.
As a Floor Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the early (6am-4pm) or late shift (10am Finish) on a weekly rotating basis. Reporting directly to the Depot Manager, your key tasks will include managing team attendance, distributing work, optimising warehouse processes, and ensuring all orders are prepared and dispatched accurately and on time. You’ll also collaborate with office staff and delivery teams to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
Role Responsibility
*Open or close the building at the beginning or end of shift.
*Check team attendance and distribute work to the team. Rearrange team to cover any unplanned absence.
*Make sure the warehouse team is working as efficiently as possible and, address any problems that may arise.
*Identify training needs for new and existing staff and train as required.
*Collect pick sheets/invoices from the office throughout the day and deliver the pick sheets to the route planning office, and the invoices to the order checkers.
*Prioritise pick sheets depending on the vehicle load plan.
*Make sure orders are put in correct lines and are wrapped and checked.
*Keep an eye on any bottle necks and move staff to cover such areas.
*Liaise with the office and reps regarding delivery issues/delivery requests.
*Route plan and load plan vehicles taking into account any service/off road vehicles.
You will need
*Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a warehouse manager role.
*Flexible to working early/late shift.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Computer literate.
*Organised self-starter.
*Impeccable attention to detail.
*Able to delegate tasks to the team.
*Multi-tasking and prioritising as necessary.
*Health and safety awareness.
*Knowledge of route planning.
