We are currently working exclusively with a successful financial services business who wish to appoint a Senior Underwriter. Reporting to Head of Underwriting the role of Senior Underwriter will play a business critical role in assessing short-term mortgage applications to make informed lending decisions. *Review & assess short-term mortgage applications with a focus on specialist lending, bridging (regulated and non-regulated), development and commercial loans
*Analyse all information to assess risk levels
*Apply established underwriting guidelines and procedures to evaluate applications
*Identify the potential risks and challenges with applications and propose risk mitigation strategies
*Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient decision making processes
*Stay updated on market trends and regulatory changes to inform underwriting decisions
The Company:

The Person:
*c5 years of relevant underwriting experience in specialist mortgage underwriting (e.g. bridging, BTL, commercial and/or development lending etc.)
*Regulatory and compliance knowledge related to banking and underwriting (KYC, AML etc.)
*Strong analytical skills and evaluating risk to make informed decisions
*Ability to solve problems with a strong attention to detail
*Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with effectively with internal and external stakeholders
*A clear and concise communicator
Salary:
£55k - c£70k plus bonus, pension, health, 25 days, hybrid/flexible working
