Job Description:
Job title: Engineering Manager
Location: Bristol
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 DOE
Our client is a specialist manufacturer of high-complex tolerance components in the Aerospace Engineering field. With extensive machining capabilities allowing this business to take on the toughest aerospace engineering challenges.
Responsibilities for the Engineering manager
*The Engineering Manager will lead the Engineering department and be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Engineering systems
*Directly manage and lead the Engineering team consisting of CAD/CAM development engineers, manufacturing engineers and NPI engineers to deliver engineered systems to manufacturing in compliance with its identified requirements
*Contribute to the business strategic development as a key member of the Senior Leadership team
*Development of new products in a profitable and efficient manner
*Strategic develop a technology roadmap for the business taking into account New business development and requirements
*Generate and implement plans for out of hours running on specific CNC systems
*Work with facilities management to make sure CNC systems are suitable and able to produce parts RFT
Essential skills, knowledge and experience required for the Engineering manager
*Technical expertise in Design & manufacturing engineering
*Qualification (BSc, BEng, MSc) in Engineering
*Strong drawing understanding (GD&T, coating, special processes)
*Experience of managing NPI and existing production process improvements
*Approachable manner and ability to communicate effectively internally and externally
*Familiarity with CNC systems (3-5 axis milling, turning and grinding)
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience for the Engineering manager *Working knowledge of LEAN process and practices
*Understand the industrial Aerospace manufacturing systems and processes
*Knowledge of SolidWorks/Solid CAM
*Familiar with EDM and Wire Cut systems
*Robotics and lights out methodologies for machining
*ISO9001, AS9100 knowledge
*Green/Black Belt certified
