Job Description:
Join Hays Education in supporting specialist schools in Wakefield! We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and empathetic individual passionate about assisting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work in specialist ASD or SEN schools in Wakefield, providing tailored support to meet each student’s unique needs, either one-on-one or in small groups.
Key Responsibilities:
*Offer support and understanding to students with ASD.
*Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive behaviour.
*Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
*Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student’s development.
*Show patience and understanding in challenging situations.
Requirements:
*Proven experience working with students with ASD in the UK.
*Strong understanding of de-escalation and calming techniques.
*A proactive and caring attitude.
*The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
