Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Managing Director to join the team.
Location: Peterborough – Onsite position
Salary: £80,000 - £120,000
Job Type/Hours: Full time, Permanent

Managing Director – The Role:
Our client is looking for a dynamic Managing Director to oversee our client’s diverse portfolio of small businesses all under a single entity. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, fostering innovation, and ensuring that each business unit aligns with our overall vision and goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a proven track record in managing multiple enterprises in a variety of industries and a passion for fostering growth and collaboration.
Managing Director – Key Responsibilities:
- Guide and support teams department heads and the wider team
- Develop and execute growth strategies to scale each business effectively and towards the owner’s vision
- Monitor and optimise the performance of each business unit, implementing best practices in operations, finance, and customer service
- Establish KPIs and regularly assess the performance of each business against these metrics
- Oversee the financial health of the organisation, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and full P&L responsibilities
- Act as the companies’ representative at industry events, conferences, and important client meetings
- Identify growth opportunities and potential synergies among the small businesses within the portfolio
Managing Director – You:
- Proven experience as a Managing Director or in a similar leadership role, within a heavily operational environment
- Experience across a range of sectors would be beneficial with a bias towards hospitality, food & beverages and retail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in an owner managed environment
- Experience managing or overseeing multiple business units
- Accustomed to full financial responsibility including budgets and P&L
- Previous experience of taking the lead in an established business
- Strong operational leadership and setting growth focused KPIs
- Strategic, results-driven, and adaptable, with a focus on growth
