Job Description:
Senior Payroll Officer
Location: St. Albans
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Type: Full-time, Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage end-to-end payroll processes for a high volume of weekly paid staff.
*Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all payroll activities.
*Process payroll data, including new hires, terminations, changes in salaries or benefits, timesheets, and deductions.
*Review and validate timesheets, ensuring adherence to company policies and relevant regulations.
*Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, tax filings, and other payroll-related documentation.
*Assist the Payroll support team to manage employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions in a professional and timely manner.
*Stay updated with legislative changes, industry trends, and best practices in payroll administration to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience:
*Prior payroll experience in high volume payroll processing within a fast-paced environment.
*Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
*Proficiency in using payroll software and MS Office suite, with Excel skills.
*Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent numerical accuracy.
*Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and external parties.
*Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
