We have a great opportunity to join a family owned worldwide, business as a Product Design Engineer. This company has a production facility based in Central Bedfordshire.

The Product Design Engineer would design innovative solutions of cutting-edge products from concept through to successful market launch.

Key responsibilities for a Product Design Engineer
*Work collaboratively with stakeholders and in cross functional teams to ensure a holistic approach to product development and innovation is applied.
*Develop innovative design concepts and produce detailed drawing & modelling of final designs with a key focus on sustainability and design for manufacture.
*Develop strong trusted relationships with key stakeholders to progress the delivery of new products to market.
*Take ownership and management of projects, including providing and presenting relevant progress reports.
*Effectively communicate with relevant departments to organise the manufacture of prototype components, tools and models as required.
*Organisation of testing to required standards.
*Effectively manage and coordinate bespoke projects with a very short lead time from brief to manufacture.
*To liaise and effectively communicate with internal production department for manufacturing input.

Essential skills for a Product Design Engineer
*Product Design Degree is highly desirable
*Proven track record in product design, ideally within construction sector
*3D design experience using AutoCad, Inventor or Solid Works
*Computer literate
*Self-motivated and able to work independently on maintenance tasks
*Full UK driver’s license
