Hours: Full time
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our team on a locum basis, providing essential services to children within a mainstream educational setting. This is a full-time position, focusing on a diverse caseload of children with varying speech, language, and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
*Conduct assessments to identify speech and language needs in children.
*Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each child’s requirements.
*Provide direct therapy sessions and support to children in mainstream schools.
*Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s development.
*Monitor and evaluate progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
*Deliver training and support to school staff on strategies to assist children with speech and language difficulties.
*Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
*Stay current with evidence-based practices and contribute to team development.
Qualifications:
*A recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
*Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
*Experience working with children in a mainstream setting is highly desirable.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
*Commitment to ongoing professional development.
