Butler Rose Public Practice and delighted to be partnering with our client a well-known and established top 20 firm of chartered accountants that are now eager to appoint a skilled, experienced, and ambitious Tax Senior to complement their corporate tax team in their London office.
Role Requirements -
The Corporate and Business Tax team of the firm are now looking for a Tax Senior to join their exciting and growing department, where the right candidate would play a key role in the delivery of a wide range of bespoke tax planning work for a broad range of clients consisting of both OMB’s and large corporates across multiple sectors. The Tax seniors work closely with the specialist tax consultancy management and leadership teams to provide a broad range of tax advice to clients and also the team of in-house commercial and private client solicitors to implement that advice.
With a broad range of clients and sectors represented by the firm’s client base, and no set client portfolio to operate, there is no typical day working in their growing team. The right candidate would be required to support the delivery of complicated tax advice to these clients in both an accurate and timely way.
Work closely with the senior management and leadership team and would be responsible for researching, analysing and preparing advisory reports/memos on a broad range of projects and taxes both for internal use and client delivery. Typical advisory projects may consist of corporate group restructures, M&A advisory projects through to employee share schemes, EIS/SEIS advice etc.
Undertake the preparation of tax due diligence reports in respect of potential target entities covering areas of tax such as corporation tax, PAYE and VAT.
To the extent required, assist with the preparation of tax valuations to support the transactions on which we are advising, and the right candidate would work on preparing the supporting calculations and valuation reports to document this, and if required submit these to HMRC.
Prepare and submit tax clearance letters to HMRC and onward discussions with HMRC which are often requirements of the advice being given.
Liaise with HMRC in respect of tax enquiry cases and voluntary disclosure work and prepare the necessary reports/response to be submitted to HMRC.
Prepare more complex corporation tax returns, often for groups, international or larger clients of the firm.
Support our General Practice (Audit & Accounts) team through the review of some annual computations for their audit clients as well as working closely with them to provide support for technical tax queries that come out of their work and their clients, again ensuring there is exposure to a range of clients and industries.
In addition to the above advisory and compliance tasks, there will be an element of dealing with HMRC correspondence
Person Requirements -
3+years’ experience in a similar Tax Senior role with a focus towards corporate clients
ACA or ATT qualified with the desire to study CTA
Advanced excel and word skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
A driven person who will take ownership of tasks and drive to completion
