Job Opportunity: Workshop Supervisor - Wood Mill
Location: Cramlington
About the Role:
We’re seeking a proactive, hands-on Workshop Supervisor to lead a team in our wood mill, ensuring seamless workflow, high quality, and top safety standards. This role involves managing a team of 10-12 and collaborating closely with other departments to keep production running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
*Production Oversight: Collaborate across departments to maintain efficient workflow through the wood mill, ensuring timely support for other stages in production.
*Team Coordination: Assign tasks, monitor performance, and attend daily production meetings to resolve issues.
*Material Management: Assess and order materials to align with production needs.
*Quality Control: Maintain quality standards throughout the process to meet customer expectations.
*Safety & Compliance: Oversee a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and proper machine usage.
*Training & Development: Provide mentorship, coaching, and skill development opportunities, encouraging a multi-skilled workforce.
*Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with teams to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
Skills & Experience:
*Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing or supervisory role, with wood-working experience beneficial.
*Familiarity with continuous improvement methods.
*Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
*Proficiency in IT systems like email and Excel.
Ideal Traits:
*Leadership qualities with a focus on quality and detail.
*Positive, solutions-oriented approach with a commitment to reliability and safety.
*Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on long-term solutions.
